B.B.S. Continuing Education Requirements
For M.F.T.'s and L.C.S.W.'s

If your license renewal period is 1997 to 1999:
18 hours of C.E.'s are required, including 7 hours each of HIV/AIDS and Chemical Dependency*. No more than six hours may be earned through self-study courses.

If your license renewal period is 1998 to 2000:
36 hours of C.E.'s are required, including 7 hours each of HIV/AIDS and Chemical Dependency*. No more than twelve hours may be earned through self-study courses.

If your license renewal period is 1999 to 2001 and the years beyond:
36 hours of C.E.'s are required, including 7 hours each of HIV/AIDS and Chemical Dependency* if this is your initial renewal period. No more than twelve hours may be earned through self-study courses.

*Chemical Dependency: M.F.T.'s and L.C.S.W.'s who started their graduate study prior to January 1, 1986, must take a one-time course in the detection and treatment of alcohol and other chemical substance dependency. This course must be at least 7 hours in length and taken during the licensee's first renewal period that ends in 1999 or 2000.
